Why Agora Planning Lab?

Agora is Greek for public square-- a place where community comes together. I have dedicated my professional life to creating more places where community can come together by supporting walkable, livable, healthy and sustainable communities throughout the U.S. My primary focus is on implementation: moving an issue from paper to practice. I founded Agora Planning Lab to leverage and expand the city building and implementation lessons learned by working directly in over 200 communities.

My specific expertise and skills are all focused towards the design, engagement, and implementation of projects and policies that support walkable urbanism. In addition to being a technical expert on numerous aspects of city building and placemaking, my unique talent is working with stakeholders, such as state or local governments, government agencies, project leads, community groups, to help them identify and articulate their desired outcomes and building coalition around areas of agreement. I do not start any project with predetermined drawings or policy changes because every place is different and unique. I can help clients set up projects to ensure successful implementation in a way that meets them exactly where they are.
